From Nendaz, the main lift at Tracouet whisks skiers up to the local slopes, including the beautiful frozen Lac de Tracouet. Getting There

Nendaz is easily reached from Sion, the capital of Valais, which is well connected by train from Geneva and Zurich. From Sion, it’s a 25–30 minute drive or a short bus ride up to Nendaz. If you’re coming by car, the mountain roads are well-maintained but steep – winter tyres or chains may be needed in snowy conditions.

Geneva Airport is the nearest major international airport, about 2 hours by car or 2.5–3 hours by train and bus.

Parking

If you’re driving, Nendaz offers several parking options, including outdoor and indoor paid car parks near the lift stations and accommodation areas. Some chalets and hotels include private parking. During busy winter weekends, spaces near Tracouet may fill quickly, so arriving early or using the free local bus service is recommended.

Dining

Nendaz has a good mix of restaurants, mountain huts, and traditional eateries. For Valaisan specialities like raclette, fondue, and assiette valaisanne, try Le Raccard, La Lanterne, or La Cabane Mont-Fort (on the slopes).
