The world-famous Harrods department store, with its impressive food hall, is at the centre of Knightsbridge, but for a less frenetic experience, try the nearby Harvey Nichols or the many top brands with shops in the area
Close to Tower Bridge, The Globe and The Shard and once a wholesale fruit and vegetable market, Borough Market has been rejuvenated as a retail foodies' paradise. As well as a variety of artisan traders, there are several excellent restaurants, pubs and bars in the market area
The sprawling Camden Market, with its lively atmosphere and countless traders' stalls, restaurants and bars, is housed in and around former industrial buildings on the Regents Canal. There are a number of hotels and other accommodation within easy reach of the market.
