Southeast of Chur's Postplatz is the Fontanaplatz, with a monument to Benedikt Fontana, leader of the men of Grisons in the Battle of the Calven gorge in 1499.
The 18th centur Bishop's Palace is an elegant Baroque building with an imposing facade using stucco decoration. In the medieval Marsöl tower are the Bishop's chapel (17th C.) and a library.
